Love?

Some thoughts
  • the greatest thing humans can obtain: an amazing intercourse of complex social interactions that showcases our evolution as social animals
  • we don't appreciate how lucky we are to live in an era where the giving and receiving of it is mostly unhindered (think of past prosecution for inter-marital/sex/whatever)
  • easiest when young, [1], but best when old
  • either the couple must share values or must delight from the discrepancy between them
  • for many, experiencing and losing it can prevent them from ever experiencing it again
  • everyone has different views on the topic, the lenses with which they view it having been affected by the experiences they've gone through...
  • but in the end, it'll always be out there...
  • however, you have to be willing to receive it (like pizza delivery)

[1] Quote from The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera:
“While people are fairly young and the musical composition of their lives is still in its opening bars, they can go about writing it together and sharing motifs (the way Tomas and Sabina exchanged the motif of the bowler hat), but if they meet when they are older, like Franz and Sabina, their musical compositions are more or less complete, and every motif, every object, every word means something different to each of them.”
